What You Should Know 

Before Hiring an Interpreter

STID only contracts with American Sign Language (ASL)  interpreters who are highly skilled and qualified professionals who have been through extensive training to become the best in their profession. 

* Professional interpreters are bound by a strict Code of Professional Conduct and must adhere to standards of confidentiality.  

* Professional interpreters Do Not edit, delete or add to any  part of the conversation, speech or presentation.

* Professional interpreters must not counsel, advise or interject personal opinions.   

* Interpreters must possess the ability to portray the feelings and emotions of the speaker.                          

* Qualified interpreters are able to interpret effectively using any necessary specialized vocabulary with Speed, Ease and Accuracy.
